Wonderful presentation based on proper detailing and calculation. "Moothoor sol varthai Amirtham" is proved beyond doubt.
ReplyDeleteMeddling with the New years day celebration is symbolic of poor governance. In fact the government wanted to declare April 14 as Ambedkar Birthday and not tamil new years day and hence the government order. Whether it is Thai or chithirai for those millions of tamilians who celebrate holidays in front of TV, this is irrelevant.Long live bad governance, then only there would be an end!

This is a good posting with a clear explanation. The confusion regarding the dates of sun coming to 0 degree latitude and the real new year celebrated in india is still not very clear as the new year is not only celebrted in tamilnadu but also celbrated in many of the states in north india. So there must have ben more reason to it rather than the one given. More research is required.
